"Then your light will break forth like the dawn...then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday." Isaiah 58:8-10
"'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the LORD." Zechariah 4:6
"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8
You did it! Today is the last day of the 21 day fast… I am so proud of you! I want 2105 to be the best year of your life: physically, emotionally, financially, mentally, and spiritually. Through these 21 days of prayer I have been challenging you to make big plans and set some big goals for your future so that you just don't drift through this year. I am committed to your success. I want to help you grow your faith and become spiritually mature.
You get to choose whether or not you will be blessed or comfortable. Meaning comes from giving your life to something greater than yourself. The reason my life is so fulfilling and meaningful to me is that I have given my life to something greater than me. I have a reason to get up in the morning! There is no greater cause to live for than the church of Jesus Christ. No organization, no business, no charity, no nation lasts forever. Even empires have come and gone. But the Word of God and people are going to last forever, and God wants EVERY person to be a part of His family.
In His Great Commission to us Jesus said, "All authority and power have been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And surely I am with you, even until the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
This morning, I am feeling that normal, powerful combination of excitement and insecurity that comes with dreaming big dreams. I possess a strong faith AND a powerful sense of inadequacy. David Martyn Lloyd-Jones said it this way, "Faith is a refusal to panic." I get it! For it to be faith, it requires fear. I should be scared to death but ready to saddle up anyway (thanks, John Wayne). So much is clear and so much is still dark. I know "me" but I know God's power. I look back and see His faithfulness in the past. I know His presences right now. I see Him actively at work in the lives of people. In the natural there is no way we can do what we dream, but with God's power at work in us, "He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think." (Ephesians 3:20)
As I wrap up my fast today, I am asking God to shine His light into my mind. I want specific direction and the confidence to follow what His Spirit is saying. Not just for me, but for my kids and their generation.
I love you...Keep believing!
"By aligning our hearts with God through fasting we find ourselves consumed by His resplendent nature. This breakthrough comes as He turns confusion of your darkness with His light of love, joy and peace." —Gary Rohrmayer
"Life in the spirit is the exchange of breath with God Almighty. We breath out our fetid air and He breaths in from His own divine lungs the power of His presence." —John Wesley
Father of Light, as I fast today, blast through the darkness I am facing with the light of Your love. Transform me with the hope of your pure light. Fill me again today with your precious Holy Spirit. Help me see through the falsehood of darkness and see the blazing truth of your light. I place my hope in you and what you are able to do. Thank you for letting me see you so! In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
On the journey with you,
